After looking for the R.L.Buzzard, I went looking for an otter, this one was a Toft pier..

I took four pics, but this one was the best out of the four, light was poor by this time, and it was difficult to stop camera shake owing to the blustery wind..

Otter..

My eldest son Allan, he was going to Brae last night, when suddenly, two otters ran across the road at Sandside, this was at 2020 hours and black as pitch .. He slammed on his brakes and missed them by a whisker, they obviously don't know their green cross code lol

I saw this Otter in the sea, I guessed it was going to its Holt, so I got in position and waited .. It did'nt take long as it went straight for the Holt, this series of pics were taken this afternoon ..

Thank you Andy.. I think the R.L.Buzzard is gone home now, so I thought I would look for an Otter, I seen one in the sound, it seem to be swimming in the direction of its Holt, so I got in position and waited for it, and sure enough it appeared to be heading straight to its home, I got it when it was climbing the rocks ..

I thought that I would help two tourists to get Otter pics. so I did, and they both got there first ever pics of the critters..

These are my pics. The Otter came from its holt, climbed down the rocks into the sea, the light tan colour is because the Otter was dry, when their coat is wet they look almost black..

Otter. 18th June 2011.

I went back to the otter site and heard them chattering in the rocks, i've only heard them whistling before, so it was a good sign that they had a family, then they appeared, i've got tons of pics of them.

I'll show six of them i've selected for you..

Otter kit..

They appeared out of two holes in the rocks, and a couple of pics that shows a subterrainean passage..

Like most of my pictures, this one has a story behind it as most do .. I was sitting at Toft pier when I noticed an Otter feeding in the choppy water, after a while it came closer, then it dived just off the ramp going into the sea.. I had a feeling it would go under the pier, but what I did'nt realise that a different Otter would come and look at me in my car, after I got some pictures of it, it came out and walked down to the sea..
