Waxwing in my garden..

I thought there was going to be hundreds on the Island.. Apart from the lone bird in my garden there was two on Oot Skerries and two at Gulbertson.. Blackcap yesterday and three Goldcrests flitting in my Sycamore tree today..

I got some amazing shots of different Arctic Terns in flight.. then I found a Mallard wae her chicks, they were running along a ditch near where i took the mountain hare pictures..

I just got home from scotland on monday morning. There was no provisions in the house, so I went to the next village to stock up again. I went via the track along the moor, suddenly a mountain hare ran across the track and disappeared up the hill, so I decided that I would wait for a wee while and see if I could spot it.. I did'nt need to wait long as the hare was walking in the direction o the car..

It got about 20 feet from me, then sat down on the heather and looked at me, well who could resist, the camera was clicking like mad..

I traveled down to Aberdeen about three weeks ago, I had my car with me so I caught the ferry..

Paisley.. Thats where I met my daughter at her house, she had to put up wae her auld man for three weeks..

Paid a quick visit to RSPB Lochwinnoch, there I caught sight of the Tree-creeper, and others..

The next day it was down to Dumfries & Galloway..

I had to do a talk at the Sanquhar camera club, not have giving a talk before, it was quite nerve racking.. But Andy my mate told me it would be fine..

So my host showed me about the area, he took me to Wanlockhead then Leadhills, there I took these..

The next day Andy got permission to take Red - squirrils pictures..



Then this Nuthatch got in on the act..



Then it was off to the Kite trail, it is on Galloway..

Then it was back to Sanquhar for the.... [gulp].... talk, but before we went, Andy took me up the. what must be the highest hill in Scotland, there we watched Red-grouse, then we went back down the hill and got this, its a female Perigrine at a distance..



Then it was time for the talk and slideshow. the people really liked my slideshow on the Auroras, and the Sei-whale feeding in Firth Voe and in fact they enjoyed all of it, and going by the upplause I got I may... [if i'm spared]... go back next year..
